Explore the stars and their myths with the Arapahoe Philharmonic! Hear the thunderbolts of Jupiter in Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 (nicknamed the “Jupiter Symphony”). Dance through the stories of the Roman god Mercury with Satie. Then take a bike ride through the sky with music from “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial,” and feel the spirit of Galileo in John Clay Allen’s “And Yet It Moves.” This otherworldly concert is bound to sweep you off your feet!
Your ticket includes a pre or post concert planetarium show in our lobby from our friends at Challenger Center Colorado!
What gives you that warm holiday feeling more than a holiday movie? Hearing the scores from those movies live from the Arapahoe Phil of course! Feel the love of family with music from “Home Alone,” the excitement of the holidays with “Nightmare Before Christmas,” or the bittersweet memories of “Meet Me in St. Louis.” This night of festive music is guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit!
Experience music from educator-composers of all eras! Feel the glory of the American landscape in Dvořák’s Cello Concerto (featuring our concert competition winner Ethan Blake), written while he was the director of the National Conservatory in New York. Loop through the solar system in professor Missy Mazzoli’s “Sinfonia for Orbiting Spheres.” Be serenaded by lecturer Eric Ewazen’s “Ballade for Clarinet, Harp, and Strings,” and hear the mythical story of Prometheus in piano teacher Beethoven’s “Creatures of Prometheus Overature.” This is a class you don’t want to be late for!
