Sergei Rachmaninoff: Symphonic Dances
Zoltán Kodály: Dances of Galanta
Antonín Dvořák: Slavonic Dances Nos. 1 and 8, Op. 46 and Nos. 2 and 7, Op. 72
Rachmaninoff had all but retired in Los Angeles before pouring his soul out one last time in the Symphonic Dances, which invigorates and mesmerizes orchestras and audiences alike with its rhythms, harmonies and melodies. Zoltan Kodály and Antonín Dvořák mix Slavic rock-n-roll into much of their symphonic music. Experience the adventure of the wandering gypsy, as the Dances of Galanta and Slavonic Dances spirit you away to the Bohemian countryside to dance and be merry!
