LaGuardia, Jr. - Music Director Tracy LaGuardia, Symphonic Strings and Symphony Prep Director John Leininger, Administrative Director Maestro Vincent C. LaGuardia, Jr., Music Director and Conductor of the Arapahoe Philharmonic and former Professor of Music, Director of Orchestras and past Director of the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music, is a frequent guest conductor with professional, community and student orchestras throughout the United States. He has appeared in concert with such personalities as Doc Severinson, Pearl Bailey, Bob Hope, Dave Brubeck, Aaron Copland, Vincent Persichetti, David Diamond, Peter Schickele, Aurturo Sandoval and Karel Husa. Symphony orchestras under LaGuardia’s direction have received invitations to perform at many prestigious National Conventions (MENC and MTNA), the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and invitations from the government cultural offices of Italy, Austria, China, Mexico and the Philippines to perform abroad. Tracy is a native of Colorado Springs and has been a resident of the Denver area for the past 27 years. A private teacher and former public school music teacher, Ms. LaGuardia received her Bachelors Degree in music education from The University of Denver in 1985. Tracy taught for several years in the Public Schools. (Denver and Cherry Creek districts) She has played the violin & viola for 35 years, and is a vocalist in many different performing groups. Ms. LaGuardia has been concertmaster of The Littleton Symphony, The Rocky Mountain Chamber Orchestra, and is currently the concertmaster of The Arapahoe Philharmonic. She has also performed with The Denver Symphony, The Colorado Springs Symphony, The Cheyenne Symphony, The Longmont Symphony, and many others. She performs in two country bands, (Colorado Country & The Trailriders); performs in several jazz groups, (electric violin & vocals) and runs her own booking agency- A Touch of Class Music. Her agency specializes in weddings & she plays in many different chamber ensembles for ceremonies & receptions. She also teaches private violin & viola lessons, and is currently the conductor of the Arapahoe Philharmonic Youth Symphonic Strings and Prep Orchestras. Tracy brings a perfect blend of educational and performance experience to the Arapahoe Philharmonic Youth Orchestras. As a freelance performer, Tracy has appeard with many stars including: Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Led Zeppelin, Lyle Lovett, Linda Ronstad, Kenny Rogers, Sara Brightman, Natalie Cole, Bob Hope, Doc Severinson, John Tesh, Sandi Patti, Dion Warwick, & Larry Gatlin. Tracy LaGuardia Symphonic Strings and Symphony Prep Director     John Leininger Administrative Director Administrative Director John Leininger has been a member of the Arapahoe Philharmonic Viola section for 20 seasons. He is past Chairman of the Arapahoe Philharmonic Concerto Competition and is currently a member of the The Arapahoe Philharmonic Board of Directors. John is an avid chamber music musician and has enjoyed starting music lessons again after retiring from a major environmental engineering company where he was a Vice President for marketing. He enthusiastically assumed the duties of Administrative Director of the APYO out of his desire to share the love of music with the children of our community. His goal is to help each of them develop the ability to perform and appreciate fine orchestral and chamber music as a life long passion.
