The Arapahoe Philharmonic Youth Symphony
Under the direction of Vincent
C. LaGuardia,Jr., the Symphony Orchestra is the most advanced of the Arapahoe
Philharmonic youth orchestras. The Symphony prepares and performs standard orchestral literature spanning the entire
history of orchestral composition - including symphonic scores from films, television and the Broadway Stage.

Repertoire is carefully selected to challenge and inspire students while providing
the appropriate vehicles for their technical and musical development.
Student musicians are selected through an annual audition process and are seated
in a special rotation system, which allows each member a wide variety of valuable experiences and opportunities
for orchestral solo and ensemble work.
As is the mission of each of the Arapahoe Philharmonic youth orchestra ensembles,
the Symphony is dedicated to providing its members with a fine musical experience;
- a carefully planned and executed educational experience;
- an opportunity for each student to 'stretch his or her interest, talent and ability
to levels of achievement beyond what might be possible in their school program;
- a group experience that emphasizes both the importance of the individual and team-work,
- and, above all, a total experience dedicated to building a positive self-image
for each and every student who participates.
