Audition Policy
Request an Audition
All prospective members must audition and all current members must re-audition each
season. Admission and placement is determined solely on the basis of the annual audition. Interested students are
encouraged to contact the APYO office at any time during the year. If an opening should occur during the season
the position will be filled as deemed appropriate by the APYO Music Director.
Auditions will be heard by the Music Director or a designated Arapahoe Philharmonic
Principal.
May audition results will be mailed to auditionees by June 15.
Auditions for unexpected vacancies will be held in late August and early September.

Fall auditions results will be communicated to auditionees by telephone as soon
as possible following the auditon.
There is a $25.00 audition fee, payable at the time of the audition.
Audition Requirements
Each audition will consist of the following:
1. Prepared solo (3-4 minutes)
2. Sight-reading Test
3. Sight-reading of orchestral excerpt.
