Conductor Search

The Arapahoe Philharmonic announces the opening of the Music Director and Conductor position.

The Arapahoe Philharmonic is a leading community orchestra located in the Denver metropolitan area, about to begin its 59th season. All of the orchestra’s 80-plus musicians are volunteers, with the exception of a core of compensated section principals. The repertoire performed by the orchestra has included the greatest names in classical music, ranging through centuries of master composers, yet not neglecting those of more recent times. In addition to the orchestra’s regular performances, the Arapahoe Philharmonic presents annual children’s concerts, and hosts a collegiate competition for college age musicians. Qualified applicants should submit the following materials by June 30th, 2012:

•Application for employment

•Program repertoire from a recent concert season

•Three professional references

•Resumé

•A DVD video recording of a recent concert and (if available) a rehearsal

Hiring Process

•Applications will be reviewed and candidates for interviews will be selected

•Interviews will be conducted in-person or through phone or Skype in mid to late July.

•Finalists will be selected from those interviewed, to each conduct one of the concerts for the 2012-13 season.
